The Green Key is an international Eco-label meant for tourism oriented enterprises which is used in Denmark, Sweden, France, Greenland, Lithuania and Estonia. The usage of the Green Key label has started in Denmark in 1994. In the summer of 2002 the first Green Key diplomas were awarded to Estonian hotels.
The acquiring of the Green Key label requires the fulfillment and everyday consideration of certain criteria. The enterprises formulate environmental policies, set environmental goals, draw up an action plan and monitor the principles of sustainable budgeting.
In December of 2006 Saka Cliff Hotel & SPA was recognized with the Green Key diploma. Saka Cliff Hotel & SPA is the first and so far the only enterprise offering accommodation in Ida-Viru County that was granted the Green Key Eco-label. Joining the Green Key project was a natural continuation of environmentally friendly policy of beautifully located Saka Cliff Hotel & SPA.
Environmentally friendly thought and action has accompanied the hotel from the very opening. The Green Key is the way of showing its guests how to attain the harmony between quality, comfort and environmentally friendly performance. At the same time the Green Key project is meant to propagate sustainable budgeting, which should in itself stimulate the rise of commercial effectiveness of a lodging enterprise and increase the investment into development of the business and the region itself.
Daily Saka Cliff Hotel & SPA fosters ecofriendliness in its activity, products and services by: · using water, heating and electrical energy efficiently · limiting the usage of environmentally harmful chemicals · recycling and lessening production of waste · using environmentally friendly materials and products · using products, that carry environmental labels or are made of recycled materials · prefer local food · using appliances that are economical and are produced without harming the environment. Our surrounding natural environment is our common claim! More information on the Green Key:
